Recently, we sweetened up a summer afternoon with this great tasting S’mores Dip. I purchased everything I needed at Aldi where I saved money purchasing great Aldi products as well as some of the name brands I love!
In the past, Aldi has not been known for carrying much in the way of organic and natural foods. However, on my shopping trip to Aldi to pick up my S’mores Bar Party items, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my local Aldi is adding several organic products to their shelves now, including organic soy milk along with several of the organic and natural brands I like, such as Bolthouse Farms and Simply Nature. I used the S’mores Dip as the centerpiece for a S’mores Bar at my daughter’s 8th birthday party. You can use this dip in a couple of different ways. As a traditional dip, choose non-traditional foods as your dippers. Try any of these:
- Graham cracker sticks
- Salted pretzels
- Jumbo marshmallows
- Gummy bears
- Bananas
- Green apples
- Strawberries
- Cherries
Or, use the dip as a base for loading up a custom-made S’more. The kids did both, and it was fun to see what they came up with! I gave my party-goers graham cracker squares and then they loaded them up at the S’mores Bar using the toppings they liked:
- Mini marshmallows
- Gummy bears/worms
- M&M’s
- Peanuts
- Almonds
- Coconut
- Sliced fruit
- Raisins
- Sprinkles
I wanted something fun for 7- and 8-year-old girls to enjoy, but something that would still be easy, inexpensive, and fun. Aldi came through with great prices, and a shopping experience that got me in and out of the store quickly, with everything I needed.
